After he suffered his first setback as a PBA Coach, Luigi Trillo bounced back big time as they trashed Jamine Peterson and Barako Bull at the Smart Araneta Coliseum 104-84.
“We’re still adjusting, but it’s nice to see activity from us defensively,” said Trillo. “Once you generate that type of activity, it gives your team positive result. We played aggressive basketball right in first quarter.”
Trillo relied on Forte's 29-point explosion and his locals lead by Tenorio, Baguio, and Espinas. Forte capped his overall game with 16 rebounds, and three steals. Tenorio and Baguio responded with 21 and 14 respectively while the newly acquired Power Forward Gabe Espinas18 points and 7 rebounds, he also provided the defense on Jamine Peterson which he limited to only 19 points after scoring 33 last time out.
“Gabby is big and athletic, although he gets too emotional sometimes. People look at him as a post threat, but he’s a good defender,” added Trillo.
